  6. New features in BitZipper 3.2

  9. Major rework of the Wizard interface to make it even more user friendly.
  10. It is now possible to let BitZipper start using the Wizard interface 
  11. directly and new actions were added to the final screens of each Wizard,
  12. such as Browse folder, email zipfile etc.
  13.  
  14. It is now possible to search for files in an open archive by typing 
  15. letters while the content list has focus.
  16.  
  17. If you select a folder in the treeview on the Add Files window and have 
  18. selected to add relative folder information, the folder name is stored 
  19. in the archive unless you select specific files in the file list.

  22. More minor changes and fixes

  25. Renaming a folder on the Extract window would not update the "Save in:"
  26. input field which could cause the zipfile to be extracted to the wrong
  27. folder.

  30. of the desktop and sometimes outside the desktop on systems with a low 
  31. screen resolution.

  43. Self-extracting archives now support password protection.

  45. Archive extraction now supports the new deflate64 method (files larger 
  46. than 4 GB).

  49. When enabled, hidden files and folders are displayed in file dialogs and
  50. added to archives as any normal file/folder would be.

  60. The user interface has been made even more user friendly. The options 
  61. tree is now fully expanded by default on Preferences window, the size 
  62. and splitter position of BitZipper Explorer is now remembered on the 
  63. main form and on the Extract Files window, the folder selected in the 
  64. tree view is now displayed in the edit field below the tree to avoid 
  65. confusion as to where the files were actually going to be extracted.

  67. You can now activate Backup Sets from Windows Explorer by clicking the 
  68. files in the BackupSets folder.

  70. Using the 'Zip & Email' option from Windows Explorer could cause 
  71. BitZipper to hang if used with Outlook Express.

  84. The entire compression engine has been improved, resulting in faster 
  85. compression and decompression speed. The update also adds support for
  86. extraction of archives created with WinRar 3 and WinAce 2, further
  87. strengthening BitZipper's position as the archive tool that supports the
  88. most archive formats.

  90. A few Windows XP incompatibilities have been solved, and BitZipper is
  91. now fully Windows XP compliant.

  93. The Backup feature has been extended with the possibilities to exclude
  94. certain files from backups, to add the current date to the archive name
  95. and to name your backup archives different from your Backup Set name.

  97. The Windows Explorer extensions have been extended with an option to
  98. extract files to the folder where the archive is stored (Extract Here).

  100. The user interface has been made even more user friendly. A helpful
  101. "header" has been added to most windows, providing a short guide on how
  102. to use the particular window. The Instant Help (aka "What's This?") has
  103. also been improved. A list of most recently used folders have been 
  104. added to the Add Files and Backup Set windows to help you save time when
  105. selecting files and folders.

  111. Fixed a problem causing creation of spanned (multi floppy) archives not
  112. to work on all PCs.

  114. The date and time of a file about to overwrite an existing file is now 
  115. displayed when you are prompted if it is OK to overwrite the file.

  117. The preferences window is now displayed if you try to virus scan files
  118. and no virus scanner has been configured.

  120. The archive name including full path is now displayed in the status bar
  121. when you move the mouse pointer over the tab belonging to the archive.

  123. The file list display configuration (list/details) and file tree 
  124. selection on the Add Files window is now remembered and will be reused
  125. the next time you add files.

  127. Batch unzipping with "One folder per file" selected now correctly 
  128. creates a folder with the archive name and extracts the files here.

  130. Tar files are now compressed instead of stored when added to an archive.

  132. BitZipper could not open archives if the system date format displayed 
  133. month names as text instead of numbers. Now all locales are supported.

  135. Trying to create an archive in a write protected folder like My Computer
  136. previously caused BitZipper to crash.

  138. The Install function has been made more robust. If a temporary folder 
  139. cannot be erased entirely it will not be used for temporary storage of 
  140. files to be installed.

  142. Previously the progress indicator window was left open when running a 
  143. setup program stored in an archive through the Extract Wizard. This 
  144. caused the display of the setup program to be covered by the BitZipper 
  145. progress indicator window.
